Hello! My name is Marta, expat in Belgium.

What is an Expat?
An expat is a person who lives outside their native country.
In 2018, I came to Brussels, Belgium, from Bucharest, Romania, with my family, to offer my children, Mihai and Stefan, a better life and more varied opportunities.
After years of living in Belgium and making all sorts of mistakes due to lack of information, I decided to create this blog to help other expats, thinking of coming to live here, navigate this complex lifestyle.

When we came here, I wanted to find online resources that explained all the details of moving here, finding a job, enrolling kids in school, finding health insurance or housing, and everything related to the Belgian lifestyle.
I found some websites but nothing very detailed, step by step tutorials to do different things, tips or tricks and mistakes to avoid.
This blog was created with the goal of sharing all the knowledge we have gathered over the years to help others avoid the mistakes we've made.
